Fourteen's Company

Usually New Year's Eve is kind of slow. We don't really do anything, or I end up at the house of someone I don't know, bored there instead of at home.

But this year was quite different. Since moving into our new house, John and I have had guests, but this weekend, we had LOTS of guests - 7 couples (including us) and 2 babies. We attended the wedding of some friends of John's from college, then the rest of the friends descended on our house. Since I had mentally prepared in advance for the onslaught of unavoidable messiness and travel clutter, I enjoyed myself and had a great time.

After everyone left on New Year's Day, John and I took a bunch of snacks upstairs and watched Superman Returns (which, if you haven't seen it, is a great movie). The next day, John didn't have to work, so we stayed in our pajamas all day and watched Season 2 of House, which was one of our Christmas presents. Very relaxing, and it also served as time to work on getting over the cold I caught over the weekend.

Even though the weather was very cold and overcast with a drizzling rain on the day of the wedding, I managed to take this Totally Awesome Picture with a slow digital camera:

And here's a picture of John with one of the babies, Ella Ruth. He kept huffing her head and saying, "Babies' heads smell so good." Hm. Might be a potential parenting hazard we'll have to solve (in the FUTURE, not now - this is not an announcement!).

hey, that photo of the sparklers IS totally cool!

I loved seeing your house.

We totally left without settling about over food money, or anything. You know how to reach us if we owe you anything.

You don't owe anything. We're glad we could have everyone over to visit! =)
